 The main objectives of The Coaches Academy are to provide relevant usable skills and perspectives, as well as to aid in career retention. An Academy can be designed to meet the needs of coaches at the youth, high school or collegiate level. Our goals for this program include a rich combination of theory and philosophy, facts and fundamentals, taught through both historical and future perspectives. This program is not for the timid - we will challenge you to ask tough questions, of yourself and of your profession.  The NCAA Women Coaches Academy provides skills training for coaches at all levels to assist them in being more efficient, productive, resourceful and successful. The academy is designed for women coaches who are ready and willing to increase their individual effectiveness by learning advanced skills and strategies that directly affect their personal and team success. The participants learn skills that are not sport specific, yet ones that are relevant and necessary for coaching responsibilities, beyond the X’s and O’s.

 Play With Purpose is a unique program that provides the tools for coaches and young adults to understand communication styles, develop perspective, honor personal and team values and their life purpose. By creating environments utilizing sport as a metaphor, they can explore their current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors related to their life choices. Participants also gain perspective and skills to build a stronger inner self-awareness and commitment to their future.

The vision of this program is to encourage women undergraduates to enter the career field of athletics.
This effort is to develop and enhance an interest in the profession of
coaching along with other potential career paths available to women in athletics.
We do this by introducing the participants to some of the pioneers of women’s athletics, offering perspective and insight for coaching and administration as careers, and a preview of skills needed to be successful and significant to student-athletes.
